POULTRY FEEDS
We have one goal when it comes to our poultry feed — maximising on-farm profits. Our poultry feed is perfectly balanced with the right protein to energy ratio to maximise the cost and effectiveness of our rations.
We offer a wide selection of broiler feeds to suit the specific needs of different broiler farmers. Our broiler feed is perfectly formulated with nutrients, vitamins and minerals to promote optimal growth and development at every stage.

Epol offers a wide selection of broiler feeds to suit the specific needs of different broiler farmers.
It is important that you prepare your broiler house in advance before the day-old chicks arrive, and that you have a vaccination programme planned.
Put feed and water out a day before the chicks are placed so that these are at room temperature when the chicks arrive. Your starter feed should be in a crumble form, while feed for the subsequent phases should be in a pellet form.
Make sure that heaters or brooders are in good working condition and at the correct height. Do not place feed or water directly under the heat source as this may cause the chicks to eat or drink less than they should.
The first chick check should be done 4 to 6 hours after placement. Young chicks should be eating, drinking and running around. If they are not, investigate the conditions that might result in a decline of these activities, such as floor temperature etc.
Make sure there are enough drinkers & feeders for the number of chicks. You can use one bell drinker per 100 birds, or one nipple drinker for every 12 birds. One pan feeder can accommodate 45 birds, while 70 birds can feed from a 40cm tube feeder.
Temperature management is essential for the successful rearing of chickens. Measure and record minimum and maximum temperatures in the chicken house. The floor temperature must be 32 ºC at placement. Carefully regulate the temperature of the rearing house especially for the first 14 days.
Birds should never be without feed. Download our brochure for guidelines on the recommended feed intake. Make sure you select the appropriate Epol broiler feed to suit your requirements. Our Epol Technical Advisors are at hand to support you.
Our broiler breeder feed is scientifically formulated to provide broiler breeders with all their nutritional requirements to support optimal growth and development, and deliver maximum on-farm profits.
MAXI CHICKS
Our layer feeds have been developed to maintain constant nutrient intake and maximise the efficiency of hens for egg production. Containing all required nutrients, our layer feed is perfectly balanced for each phase of production.

Our focus is on formulating feed to deliver maximum on-farm profits. In order to optimise the cost effectiveness of our rations, we have developed the ideal protein profile with the correct protein to energy ratio.
Our nutritionally balanced feed supports the correct body development for all phases as well as appropriate feather growth. Farmers can maximise the efficiency of the hens for egg production and achieve the maximum egg weight.
During the rearing phase, a flock will benefit from the Epol Sure-Lay Starter, Sure-Lay Grower and Sure-Lay Developer ranges. From 0-15 weeks, pullets benefit from feed with high protein and energy levels to ensure optimal organ and skeletal development for the future laying hen. From 15-18 weeks, Sure-Lay Developer ensures that lean muscle tissue and body fat reserves are deposited for the early onset of production.
The feeding and management of pullets during the growing period has a major impact on egg production and egg weights during the laying period. Mistakes made during the critical rearing period can lead to poor production in lay, which cannot be corrected at this stage.
It is essential that diets are changed at the correct time to ensure body weight and uniformity targets are met. Pullets that achieve target body weights at maturity generally become the best producing layers.
Epol layer feeds have been developed to maintain constant nutrient intake and maximise the efficiency of the hens for egg production. As flocks age, their nutrient requirements change, and it is best to phase-feed these flocks for the duration of the laying cycle.
It is important to note that feed consumption depends on temperature, breed, humidity, energy level and the amino acid profile of the diet.
