Boost Sow Productivity and Reduce Feeding Costs with Scientifically Formulated Pig Nutrition

In any successful swine production system, feeding costs and sow productivity are two of the most critical factors impacting overall farm profitability. Though gestation and lactation diets only account for around 16% of total feed usage in a farrow-to-finish operation, their correct formulation is vital to match the nutritional requirements of your breeding herd.

Effective sow management from weaning to mating, and during pregnancy and lactation, ensures a higher weaning-to-oestrus interval and improves overall reproductive performance. Ensuring lactating sows receive optimal nutrition is essential for maximum milk yield, which directly influences litter weight gain and piglet growth rate.

After 21 days, sow milk alone is insufficient for young pigs’ rapid growth, making creep feed an essential component of early nutrition. Most piglets begin showing interest in creep rations by 7 days of age. Introducing this feed properly reduces stress, prevents tail biting, and promotes uniform growth. Always prevent sows from accessing creep feed to avoid overconsumption.

During the dry period (from weaning to farrowing), dry sows must be fed with precision to ensure they farrow at the ideal body condition. Likewise, boar feeding programs should adjust according to seasonal changes, body condition, and breeding workload. Proper boar nutrition, along with sound housing and health management, ensures strong service capacity and better breeding outcomes.

All our pig rations are scientifically formulated to deliver balanced nutrition tailored to the needs of each production phase – from sows and boars to weaners, growers, and finishers – helping you optimise herd performance and improve feed efficiency.
