Epol’s Sure Lay Super Layer range is expertly formulated to help South African layer farmers maximise egg production, shell quality, and overall flock performance. Designed for commercial and small-scale producers, the Sure Lay Super Layer products deliver the balanced nutrition hens need to maintain high laying rates and consistent egg size throughout the production cycle.

Before hens are transferred into the laying house, ensure conditions are optimal for strong early performance. Provide clean water, prepare feeders, and make sure lighting, ventilation and temperature management systems are functioning correctly. Creating a stable environment supports better feed intake and reduces stress during transition into lay.

Choosing the correct layer feed is essential for long-term productivity. The Sure Lay Super Layer range includes:

  • Sure Lay Phase 1 – A high-nutrient ration designed to support sustained development during early lay and maximise peak production. Phase 1 is fed from point of lay to ±40 weeks.
  • Sure Lay Phase 2 – Formulated to maximise persistency in the laying phase, ensuring controlled body weight gain and sustained production from 40 to 60 weeks of age.
  • Sure Lay Phase 3 – A premium layer feed designed for late production to maximise shell quality and persistency. A phase 3 diet is fed from 60 weeks to depletion.

Monitor feed and water consumption closely during the first few days in the new house. Active birds should be eating, drinking and moving freely. Reduced behaviour may indicate challenges with temperature, floor conditions, ventilation or stocking density. Ensure adequate feeder and drinker space to prevent competition and support consistent intake across the flock.

Temperature management remains crucial throughout the laying cycle. Record minimum and maximum temperatures daily to help hens maintain stable production and avoid drops in feed intake.

Hens should never run out of feed. Follow the recommended intake guidelines for each product phase to ensure birds receive the correct nutrient levels for their age and production stage.

To achieve the best results, always select the appropriate Sure Lay Super Layer product for your flock’s needs. Epol’s qualified team is available to assist with feeding programmes, ration planning and on-farm optimisation.
